Our Team

CTEN-Uganda is a grassroots team composed of Ugandan nationals and refugees from South Sudan, now living in northern Uganda. We bring our professional backgrounds and experience across a range of fields to the goal of improving lives, aid coordination, and opportunities for refugees in Northern Uganda. Beginning our work as a community-based information and communications technology (ICT) organization in Yei, South Sudan in 2012, we fled warfare and began our operations in northern Uganda since 2016; we are now a registered NGO in Uganda. We are dedicated to bringing together our experience as refugees and our professional backgrounds in order to bridge the perspective refugees with the goal of improving humanitarian aid.

Peter Batali
Co-Founder and Executive Director
B.Sc. in Computer Communication and Networks (University of Westminster, London, UK). 10+ years’ experience in ICT management in public and international organizations. Peter manages the CTEN-Uganda team and sets the course for CTEN-Uganda’s vision and partnerships.
Taban James Radento
Co-Founder and Director
Advanced Certificate of Education & Certificate in Information Technology at Makerere University. 8+ years in Community Information Centre (CIC) program management, and senior ICT instructor in Yei, South Sudan. James manages CTEN’s Refugee Information Centre (RIC) pilot project in Eden II, Rhino Camp, Uganda.
Hillary Lugala
Program Manager
Coordinates CTEN’s program activities and manages their interdependencies in the different refugee settlements in Northern Uganda.
Thomas Taban Abe
Field Coordinator
B.A. in Supply and Procurement Management at Kampala International University, Uganda. 13+ years’ experience in international organizations, monitoring and evaluation, community outreach and mobilization. Thomas coordinates the implementation of CTEN’s information and sensitization efforts with UNHCR and other humanitarian aid partners.
Ajoma Christopher
Monitoring, Evaluation and Technology Officer
Computer Networking professional with 9+ years’ experience as a MS Office applications instructor and ICT administrator in private sector businesses. Christopher has also worked as a freelance computer repair and maintenance technician. He oversees the designing of M&E systems for CTEN projects and manages the organization’s information database.
Dawa Rose
Finance and Administration Manager
B.A. in Business Administration at Uganda Christian University. 9+ years working in financial institutions and active organizational environments. Manages CTEN’s Finance and Human Resources.
Lucy Awate
Project Coordinator for Psychosocial Support
B.A. in Social Works and Social Administration at Bugema University. 10+ years’ experience in conflict resolution and management and provision of counselling services to traumatized persons at both household and community level while working with various organizations in South Sudan. Plans and coordinates the psychosocial support and community peacebuilding initiatives of CTEN Uganda.
